‘In The Wee Small Hours of the Morning’ was created in collaboration between säje and the world-renowned Jacob Collier after Jacob recorded a one-take, solo piano + voice, improvised arrangement of the beloved standard in the studio, and then handed the reigns over to säje to do what we do – one of our favorite collaborations to date. We are thrilled to offer this piece, adapted for student ensembles by MaryAnne Muglia, which features an ever-evolving harmonic journey woven through textural vocal layers and soaring melodic lines, accompanied by piano (also adapted from Jacob’s original live studio take).
